bad weekend past for fishing

Post by Ed Mashburn »

Good afternoon to all- We came down to the fish camp at Port St Joe- raining and blowing hard. so we loaded up the kayaks and drove to St Marks- raining and blowing there. finally, Monday morning was not too bad- put in at St Joe Bay- within an hour, it was raining and blowing.
didn't get to fish much, but it's still nice being down in that fine part of the world.
Better fishing next time- I hope!
good fishing to all- Ed Mashburn

Sorry to hear the weather didn't cooperate. Sometimes when I get blown off the SJB I've opted to try fresh water. The first time I tried the intercoastal near White City but that didn't work well either. I paddled into the current for about an hour and a half only to drift back in less than half an hour. The next time I tried a Lake Wimico feeder creek and enjoyed a good day of fishing. Next time I may try the Dead Lakes. I've never fished them but they sure look good and are only about half an hour's drive up 71.
