you guys got me stumped, I been trying to figure out where Hickory Mounds is but I can't find it in google maps. any hints? I read the statement about the roads closed in the WMA but I still am lost

Google maps. Find Econfina River. Just east you will see a horseshoe road that swings down. That is HM. Between Econfina River and Fenholloway Rivers. Just west of Rock Islands.

Got it. If the road is in the WMA, do you need a special stamp or permit or anything? In Georgia, we must have a WMA Stamp to hunt or fish in the WMA.

Pretty sure no stamp is required. I don't have one...just a Florida saltwater license and have been checked at HM with no issues.

To fish, no. To hunt there are quota hunts and non quota huts and yes you will need a WMA permit which i get when i buy the Gold package
