I'm staying with family on SGI at the end of July. Where is the best spot to put my kayak in to do some fishing?

Best spot would probably be either of the two launch ramps in the state park. You can launch near the bridge in a couple of places...and there's good fishing to be had on both sides of the bridge closer to shore. If you're staying in the plantation, then you can launch at Nick's Hole. They have info on the plantation's website about it.
