Kayak Recommendation Please
My uncle is looking for a kayak. He is seventy years old and recently had knee surgery. He needs something that he would be able to get in and out of without issues. He would need to step in and sit down. He would also need to stand up and step out as well as stand up to relieve himself. The first requirement I am looking for is stability. In fact, other than it being a kayak intended for fishing there really are no other requirements. In your opinion what are the couple of most stable kayaks on the market today? Thank you in advance for your recommendation.

The best way to find a kayak that fits your uncle's needs is to try some kayaks first. Will he paddle or peddle? If you're in the Tallahassee area check out https://thewildernessway.net/. They rent kayaks and they will help you find what works best for your uncle.

What he said
If you are looking for brands to try before others, then go to Wilderness Way and talk to Rob.
I personally love my Hobie Outback but thats a huge investment. So try them out, rent them, sit in it, and find the kayak YOU are comfortable in. Stick with the name brands. Avoid the ones hanging off the fence at Walmart. It might discourage from fishing or kayaking.

Re: Kayak Recommendation Please
Thank you guys. I'm in Tallahassee but he is in Panama City. I don't know if there is anywhere over there that he can go. I fish out of a Quest which is plenty stable for me but would not work for him. I know the wide Hobies, Jacksons, and some others are far more stable than mine. I didn't know if one that has dual hulls like a catamaran would be more stable or if that is more gimmick than anything else. What I need to tell him is the names of a couple that are considered very stable and hopefully he will be able to see one in person. If they don't work he should probably stick with a boat.

I think they are or have moved it all to the TNT hideaway location.
