U.S. Catch Limits

The Diane Rehm Show on NPR (88.9 FM in Tallahassee) will be discussing catch limits in U.S. Fisheries today at 10am. I'll check out the podcast later.

Thanks.
Should we dismiss the show immediately because it's on NPR -biased media?
I say no, just review the available EVIDENCE. But it won't be "facts" because "we" can't collect facts (definitive absolutely measurable proof) on fisheries -or anything ecologically complicated. That doesn't mean we can't get decent evidence and weigh the information to make informed decisions. I tend give a lot of credence to the analysis from scientists. They've earned it.
Do scientists have bias? Yeah, they're human. But science, without ANY doubt, has more rigorous checks and balances to maintain its integrity than any discipline yet conceived by people. I would never expect the general public to have a decent understanding of the process (peer review) but I will say simply that it is a brutal dog-eat-dog battle for accuracy that takes no prisoners.
Just MY bias.

Did she say anything about Skitterwalk or Talltails and his taller brother catching too damn many fish? Seems to me there's no way to limit that catch :-)

Thanks for the tip.
I just finished listening and that is an excellent program, it lays out all the problems we are facing.
