I never realized

Post by Fishbaitbilly »

How good I have it. Tomorrow, I go in for surgery. Colon cancer. After six weeks of chemo and radiation therapy, I get to meet with the fillet and release team. They tell me I will be back on the water in about 3 months.Catch them while you can. Being off the water is really the hard part for me. Please post up some reports so I can live vicariously through you guys! Thanks, FBB.

Make sure they filet the correct area, and my thoughts and prayers out to you and the surgical team to get you back on the water soon.

PS I heard there are some people that are not disabled but want to be, the question is does that make them transabled?

I'll be praying for you Billy. You're the one always has the encouraging word and sound piscatorial advice. I look forward to many more lessons on the water from a pro, so get yourself back in shape!

Thanks for all the good thoughts people! I am at home now. The Doctors released me a day early, I suspect at the request of the nursing staff at TMH. In a couple of months I go back for a much more minor surgery to reverse the temporary ostomy. I hope everyone is taking advantage of this great weather and killing it out there.

Billy! Just saw your post starting October 22nd! Didn't realize how long it's been since checking in. :/
Glad to hear that you're back home recuperating. Sounds like by Spring you'll be back to harassing the fishes. Best wishes for a strong recovery!

Thanks zeke392. The doctors say that I am doing very well for such a grizzled old fart. They decided to put me on a few more courses of preventive chemotherapy which will delay my reversal surgery a bit. I am very grateful to have so many supportive friends and family during this down time.

I have been getting some killer fishing reports the last couple of months. I hope everyone is taking advantage of this fishing mecca we live in. Hope to see you out there soon!

Good to hear that your docs are impressed with your progress despite still putting you through an extended ringer! They are probably most impressed with your unending supply of witty repartee! (Do you ever run out of material?!?) :P
Keep on keeping everyone smiling, including yourself, Billy.
Best wishes and lots of love!
