So here is my little rant about Comcast and sorry if anyone works for them. So I am moving to SGI and had to turn off my Comcast service. Had no complaints about the service but whatever. So I called the rep and he said, "OK I will shut off service tomorrow". I said, "no I need it cut off March 1". "Ok March 1" he says. So I work that night, go about my morning business, hit the bed about noon, get up about 6:30 and wtf, no internet. So I call them up. "It appears that your service has been disconnected" says the obvious foreign accent. "what do you mean, disconnected, I needed it disconnected March 1 not today," i said calmy. So I start work from home on the internet at 7PM. "No problem" he says "I will get you reconnected". So after about 30 minutes of telling him my phone number, name, address, last four of my social, he "gets me hooked back up". Great problem solved. Wait, Wait. I still don't have internet. Ok let me waste 30 more minutes of your time sending refresh signals to your modem. Nothing. "let me transfer you to a IT specialist". Ok great Transfer #1. after 15 minutes of troubleshooting my problem, the young lady says "Ok sorry nothing more I can do tonight. You should be fine by 8AM tomorrow morning. I can't send another refresh or it will burn up your modem (LIE)." Ok great no internet for the guy that works 100% on the internet. Good thing I have a Verizon hotspot on my phone.

So I finish my work at 7:30AM wait around for about an hour or two. Still No Internet. I try rehooking everything. nothing. Well I had to leave and run some errands before bed. Ok get home at noon, no internet call number two. bla bla bla... name number, address, last 4 of social. 45 more minutes and 5 transfers later the Modem Specialist tells me that he is very sorry but the modem is dead. GREAT. Just drive to Tallahassee and pick one up. Can't got to get to bed. Wake up, work (with no internet), go to bed at 8AM, wake at 1PM. Head to Tallahasse to pick up a brand new modem.

Go to the store. Put my name on the digital list. 35 minutes later, 2 guys behind me just went. wait a minute. Cut line and tell the rep that I put my name in but apparently it didn't "take" and it happens all the time. Great. one hour after arriving I am leaving with my brand new Modem. Eat some sushi, get home by 6. On the phone again to simply activate my brand new modem.

Sorry it appears a tech came out to your house and disconnected you (LIE) so we are going to have to send a tech out. Unacceptable. Let me talk with the modem specialists again. Transfer, name, address, phone, last 4 of social. Well it seems like something is wrong with your house. "funny cause everything was working fine until you shut off my service early." Ok let me transfer you to someone that can help. Transfer, number, name, address, last 4 social. "with whom am i speaking" i ask. " I am some random girl talking on the phone that doesn't really want to help you" she said (or maybe thats what I heard). "well looks like we are going to have to send a tech out to see whats going on". "Ok great 3 nights with no internet" i say to her. "looks like I can get someone out there on Monday" she says like she is doing me a favor. "Not Acceptable" I say the nicest I can possibly say at this point. "Let me talk to your super" I say. "OK please hold" and hold I did. 55 minutes. at this point it was about pride. Nothing, no answer, then my phone lost connection. Maybe they will call back. Maybe they were trying to call a tech to see if they can come out on saturday to make this customer happy.

Well maybe they will call me back. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHa

So I need internet at this house for another 2 weeks but I would rather use my phone's hotspot and burn through my data, than to reconnect with Comcast.

Goodbye Comcast. Unfortunately the next company will be just as bad I am sure.

Sorry to hear about your problems with Comcast.I work at the City of Thomasville in the cable department.No way would that happen with us.Companies like Mediacom and Comcast promise a lot ,but they don't back it up.

I try to look at the bright side. At least the abuse I get from the cable company helps to take my mind off the abuse I get from the cell phone provider.
