St Marks NWR - 20 Sep 2015

Post by Moore Lyon and Quick »

Tough day at the refuge - fished from 8:00AM until early afternoon at Long Bar and the wash (boat ramp) bar and points in between. Not much bait in the water except for mullet. There was some good water movement early and I did get a approx 20" trout trout (forgot the tape today) which I released. This was my first trout in a long time. Also picked up a rat redfish. The rest of the day was small jacks, lizardfish, pufferfish and a ladyfish which put on a good fight. All fish came on an Olive/Chart/white of tan clouser. A few pics:

The clouser on the on the lower right has been a steady performer this year and last year - olive over chartruese over white or tan with gold, pearl and bronze flash
