Seaducers an Clousers

Post by bk »

Seaducers and Clousers have been producing decent redfish and trout action in the last month. Not as much sight fishing for em but if you can find them holed up, these flies are money. Anyone else throwing the long rod lately?

Tied up a dozen or so of each over the weekend in assorted colors and patterns. An easy tie. Many tutorials on YouTube if you're new at it. Just need the wind to lay down a bit now.

Nice looking tie, Brad. Not much time to fish lately other than though others posts. Keep on keeping our dreams alive.

I hope to get back out with the fly rod this weekend. When the fish move into the holes, I have done well with a sinking line. Oysters can be a problem but you can usually figure out how to keep the fly slowly moving without getting hung up. The sinking line helps keep the fly in the strike zone longer and it gets it down quicker.

Gerald. Instead of spending another 60 bucks for a sinking line, I throw a 9' fluoro leader on the end of floating line and that seems to do the trick.

I took a sinking line and created several sink tips 4ft in length so it doesn't hurt so much when it gets torn up. Just throw it away and put another one on ( loop to loop). Haven't done well on reds in the winter on a fly though. I pull it out when I find them.
