Rod Holders for Truck Bed

Not technically "kayak rigging", but made this yesterday afternoon to hold rods in the truck bed.

Entirely PVC. Pretty simple to make.

cool idea frenzi. looks well thought out and functional.

reminds me of something i saw not too long ago in port st. joe.
twas a pick up truck with vertical pvc rod holders mounted to the front grille. about 6 rods sticking straight up in the line of sight while driving down the highway. cajun thunders flippin and floppin.

thanks bk. yeah i have seen those front mounted ones. seems like they'd get in the way of being able to see...you know...the road and other cars.

also gotta watch out for low hanging branches. i recall dakidd telling me that after driving home from a fishing trip one time he found that his lure was gone and his reel had been stripped of it's line.

Sure do. Angling them is give and take. If you angle them too low, they are not as high, but then you sacrifice truck bed space. Angle them up high, you can fit a cooler up against them, but you might get caught on a low powerline/branch. I went about halfway. But definitely have to keep an eye out.

Very nice, you will enjoy it. I have one very similar in the back of my truck. My first one was stolen at Econfina several years ago. So now I lock it inside the truck when I park at a boat ramp.

Nice rod holders Frenzi. Quick question off subject though. I have a titan too, and have been looking for a tool box that works with the utili-track system. (not the nissan ones,.... they are cheap and bad) anyway i was wondering if your uws box worked on your track, or if you just mounted it.

Tool box is just mounted to the tops of the bed, doesn't work with the utili-trac. I don't know of any that do either, but I'm sure there is a decent one out there somewhere. Do you ever visit TitanTalk? If not, there is a TON of great information on those forums, and I'm sure there are a few threads about tool boxes and the utili trac system.
