Stake out Pole

Post by gatoremt »

Hey all. I am looking at making my own pole. I found this guy in Georgia that sales the poles. 8 ft in length 3/4" poles for $16.00 a pole. He also has the 'T" handles for $9.95. He has a flat fee shipping to Tallahassee for $28.05. I plan on getting at least 2 8' poles. He can ship up to 70 lbs for that $28 fee. If anyone is interested in getting a pole let me know. I would like to order in the next week.
Thanks
Griff

The 5/8" kayak pole is only $12.00 so if we had several people order them we could split the shipping cost and have a cheaper SOP.

I had previously looked at max gain for fiberglass for stake out poles. I think I had decided to drive up and pick it up someday. At the time they did not sell the other parts. If you are still planning on ordering I might be interested in splitting shipping cost. I would want the 1 hollow tube.

I think bamboo and oyster don't mix so well though.

I still have not order them yet. I was trying to get more people to order to cut down on the shipping charge. I currently use a 5 ft fiberglass SOP. I love mine. I just need a 8 ft sometimes. I used it last weekend in Oyster Bay with no problems. I was thinking about making one out of heavy duty PVC but after being in OB last weekend. I will stick with the fiberglass pole.

Dang
I just had a coworker pick me up a 7' flats stick for $56 at wally world in Tampa while he was fishing there last month. I work a few miles from Marietta GA and will be coming down to Indian Pass Campground Oct 22-26th to fish that area. I could bring them down with me saving all shipping costs, but adding sales tax to each. If you can get a bunch to buy I'd be happy to deliver them.

I am in for quantity three at 8 feet plus SS tips (not sure about the handle yet). I will have to figure out whether I want 3/4 solid or 1 inch tube. Let me the best way to pay you. As we get closer, we can work out details.

So 3/4 size?, let me know, doesnt look like they make 5/8 tips but I just used a disc sander to sharpen my old SOP. We have a while to spread the word.

I spoke with them and they said people stop by and pick up orders for other people all the time. And they do not currently have a SS tip for the 5/8" pole. He said you could use the 3/4" tip though. Said people do it all the time. Said the poles come with a flat end. Said you can put the SS tip on them with JB Weld or use a belt sander to make a point on the end. Said wih the SS tip they are bullet proof.
Said you would just need to call ahead and make an appointment to pick up the items.
