I hate airboats

The place to go for yelling and screaming and cussing and fighting. If you don't like this kind of stuff, then don't enter. What happens in Fight Club, stays in Fight Club, so after you vent, forget.

Reminds me of the quote by the lead singer of Faith No More, when he was questioned about why their video showed a fish struggling out of water, gasping for breath: "Hey, fish have the right to be filmed just like everyone else".
"There is nothing an agnostic can't do if he doesn't know whether he believes in anything or not."

I wanted to pull this thread back up because of something just happened to me last Saturday. A situation that has happened to me before, and one that I have been thinking about for a few years. Now, to me, a powerboat is a powerboat. They're all the same in making noise, etc., etc.; all complaints against any type apply to any other type of powerboat.

Saturday afternoon I hear an airboat coming up the creek. "Oh, great. He is probably going to cut right through where I'm fishing." This was an unfair assumption on my part, being used to the actions (antics) of those who run outboards. Now, this isn't the first time this exact same scenario has happened to me with an airboater. He came around the nearest bend in the creek where he could see me, shut down power to idle, turned around and went somewhere else. That is consideration.

This is much different from some of the antics I've seen outboard operators pull.

What makes a person in an airboat wearing earmuffs, think he has the right to come so close to someone who doesn't have them. The only answer: arrogance. Just love it when I get to HM and see 3 or 4 of them. Time to hit another landing.

I am not a fan of air boats, motor boats, ultra light planes, and other noise makers. Like those a$$holes out at the lake the other night near us that must of unloaded at least 500 shells for the hell of it, splattering bb's all around you. I have no problems calling fwc on $hitheads that feel that they are above the law, and you shouldn't either. Especially if they are intentionally buzzing you in boats.

I don't like them either but I do have one on the list of toys I don't really need but want to get! There are jackasses of all kinds no matter what type of toys that they have. I am sure somewhere there are some jackass kayakers. I do find myself cursing boats much more when I am in my kayak, though. It is frustrating when others do not respect your space and intentionally get too close. My favorite example of that happened a couple of years ago on lake Jackson. I had run my duck boat up into the bushes and was standing in my waders next to a pine tree in the water. A bass boat started approaching and I stepped out from behind the tree where he could clearly see me...he kept coming and then asked if I was hunting. My response, was, "No, I am guarding your fishing spot for you".
