Does it rate as a kayak for the tournaments? A Commander? Either one of those will be mah ship.

Yes the Native or Commander will work. You can use a 30 foot Contender as long as you remove the outboards, kicker, and trolling motors and paddle or pedal it. A craft under human power is required be it kayak, canoe, hybrid or even Hobie Pro Angler

I love my Commander 140 and have fished the last 5 tournaments out of mine and its awesome. Plenty of room to catch photo and release fish. Very fast kayak
