Hello FCKA members! I am a newbie to the kayak fishing world as I have just purchased a couple used boats from a friend. I rented one a while back and had a blast so I am looking forward to exploring the beautiful Big Bend area by Kayak somemore. I live in South GA and I have fished (from boats) around the Keaton Beach & Steinhatchee areas a lot. It looks like the St. Marks/Wakulla area has a lot to offer Kayak fisherman. I also fly fish and I just picked up a new Scott 9wt w/ a Lamson Konic reel so I am anxious to have some reds break it in for me! Any & all help/tips are greatly appreciated!!

Welcome Yakjockey. You are coming onboard at the right time. Fishing should really start to pick up very soon. How far South in Georgia are you? Look under the 'launches' section of this site. Jsuber has done a terrific job of showing where they are. Wakulla Beach is one of the more kayak friendly places in the area and a good place to start. You may even run into some other FCKA'ers there. I fish there a lot and if you see me I can pretty much show you how not to catch just about anything.
