First time fishing advice

Post by manateeman »

Just bought a Hobie Revolution. Going fishing on Sunday. I am familiar with Wakulla Beach, but wanted to know some other suggestions. I used to Fish Lanark in my former motor boat. Is there a good kayak launch site along that area or do you have to share the ramp with the motor boats?

Also any suggestions on areas where you can go scalloping via kayak?

Thanks for any advice for this new kayaker!

Went to Wakulla Beach on Sunday. My daughter caught a nice trout will peddling away from the shore in about 20 seconds. Thought this was going to a great day, but then it slowed down dramatically. A few ladies, cat fish, small flounder. Brought only the trout home. Fished the west side from Wakulla beach on out towards Shell point. Wind really picked up in the afternoon and called it quits early.
