Trolling for Kings question
First time to the area and my son and I are going to try and troll for kings tomorrow. I have a king mackerel rig and am going to put a cigar minnow on it. Is that enough weight or do I need to put additional weight on the rig? Also we plan on trolling just past the second sand bar, is that far enough out? Any time of day work better than others? Thanks guys

Re: Trolling for Kings question
No luck on that first trip in April, plan on being back in late June. We will be staying in Seagrove Beach and was looking for any tips for kayaking, target fish, bait, trolling techniques, etc. I greatly appreciate any help you guys have to offer. This will be my second trip using the kayak and my son and I love it so far.

I haven't been in quite a while but I would talk to the guys at Sunjammers for some local knowledge. You are a bit farther west over there than this forum routinely targets. The hole just west of Rosemary Beach is a well known hotspot for this type of fishing.
