It is not a braid, it is more like a ribbon, like correction tape. The Hype came from the package. But the way it acts I would think you would get a lot of front hook fouling on top water. I will let you know next week.

The hype:
Not a Mono. Not a Braid. The Next Generation of Fishing line. NanoFil is made out of gel-spun polyethylene, much like a superline. This ultimate spinning reel fishing line consists of hundreds of Dyneema® nanofilaments that are molecularly linked and shaped into a unified filament fishing line. Dyneema, The World’s Strongest Fiber™, gives this line superline type strength and our uni-filament process makes it feel and handle like a smooth monofilament

So is it flat?
Or is it like the old fireline? Fireline is basically the same idea.
Hmmmm......

almost flat, if you cut it and look at the cross section, it looks like a flying saucer. I never used fireline, but that is probably what they are referring to as a "superline".

That's interesting about the shape. Huh
Yeah....if I remember right, fireline is fused dyneema.......so its not technically 'braid' per sé... I only tried it once...way back when it came out...and didn't care for it. Maybe things are different (both the lines and my preferences....)

Interested in your long term review........not that I have any reason to switch from powerpro at this point....maybe switch to the PP slick8.
Maybe.

The nanofil casts an extra 10 to 15 yards, no matter if it is a spoon, a hard bait, or whatever. After the tests, I put a paddle tail on the aqua dream spoon and started casting it horizontally along the edge of the grass and gravel where the current was washing over the bar looking for some flounder. Something big just crushed it on the 3rd cast as I bumped it along the bottom. It pinned it and then turned into the grass with a big wake and as the rod loaded up and the drag just started to move, the spoon came to the surface. WTH? I yank it and can see the paddle tail is missing, WTH 2 times!
I crank in and lookie here:

I post this here because you can see the nanofil did not break, but an out of the package Aqua Dream Spoon hook broke at the eye. I have never broken a spoon hook before, any one?

I never heard such an symposium on knots and lines. Thanks Guys! Does this new line get the "wind Knots" like the braids?

No it does not, you can see it directly attached to the spoon without leader and it has been slung out a hundred times and it as straight as when it came out of the package.
Some marketing there: The hook breaks before the line will!
HOWEVER,
I would not recommend it for live bait or even worse cut bait around bars or creeks with structure. I will use YoZuri Hybrid.
BUT
for Cork or Cajun Thunder fishing, it is what I will be using from now on.

As for pulling jerkbaits and spoons and such, I do not see an advantage over Power Pro.

That's insane about the spoon breaking!

I had a couple of hook breaks on used spoons. I really think it was my fault for not rinsing well enough after salt and the part right behind the screw, hook, weedguard, and spoon has a lot of noks and crannies to hold salt.
