Pray for Greg Blakneys Father

Postby jsuber » Tue Apr 10, 2012 5:12 pm

Greg may not be able to make it to the tournament this year. His father is not doing well and he has flown to Texas to be with him. Please pray for his fathers health and for safe travels for Greg.

Pray for Greg Blakneys Father

Postby jsuber » Sun Apr 15, 2012 12:46 pm

Sorry to say that Greg "Shorewalker" could not attend this years event due to the passing of his father on Friday. The death was expected and the family got to spend time with him before his passing. Our condolences to Greg and his family.

Condolences Greg. Sorry for your loss but glad you arrived in time to have family time as your Dad passed on.

We will pray for your Father and your family, Greg. Losing a parent is one of the hardest things in life that we have to face. Its good to know that he will live on in yourself and your children. Our hearts are with you.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, thoughts, and prayers.

My dad has gone to a better place. He had battled cancer for many years and he decided that it was his time to go.

All four of his sons were with him on his final days and we were able to say our good-byes.

I know that you did not get a chance to meet my dad but I bet he was a lot like all of your parents because I know that it takes great parents to raise each of the great family of people that visit this site.

A brief summary that describes a little about my dad but can not truly describe the great man that my father was:

If you have a chance raise a beer or cheer for a Texas Longhorn - I know that he would appreciate it.

Greg, thank you for sharing the obit....just a clip of a life well-lived. It was wonderful that you and your brothers could be there with your father in his final days.
