Hickory Mounds 11/10/18

Post by jsuber »

Brenda and myself went at noon. Low tide was at 9:00 and with the 20 mph wind out of the north tide didn’t come in until 12:30. I hooked a nice red on a gold spoon. It eventually got away. Caught a small trout. Lost a big trout on top water. Fish were few and far between or not hungry.

Brenda had similar results.

Tim and I fished Sunday further south. We had to battle white caps a few times during the day and staying out from shore in deeper water waiting for the tide to slowly come back in where we were fishing. Launched at 6:45am and came in at 4:15pm. Worn out is an understatement...lol! Still had a good time. 6 reds, 1 sheepshead, 2 flounder and roughly 55 trout between us. Great if you're catching fish to keep as far as size, but not good if you're looking for the bigger ones for tournament reasons. We didn't keep any fish.

Might be at Hickory Mounds Friday pre-fishing before the Taylor County tournament on Saturday.
