Levy Bay 10-23-16

Post by JUP 561 »

thanks to fishbaitbilly i was able to borrow a kayak and put in at levy bay road at about 11pm. The tide was falling at low tide was about 2ish. Fished oysterbeds, grasslines, and deeper drop offs to no avail. At 1pm i decided to paddle back into the creek mouths and see what i could find. Standing up on the wilderness systems tarpon 16 was tricky at first but i soon got the hang of it. (not like my ascend 10fter back in south florida) Started exploring skinny water, (less than 1 foot) and saw my first red of the day. Presented it 4 times before he ate it. Mid-upper slot red. Wound up finding fish all over, ended up catching over 15 all sight fished on the savage gear tpe shrimp. Great day. Got some cool video, heres a couple pics. All fish were in the slot range, a few may have been just over. Catch and release.

There's a gorging shrimp fest going on out there now. Way to target them, Kyle!

Cool that you got an ATAK, Tim! Looking forward to hearing your reports about it.

Nice looking fish. I like the savage gear shrimp. Wish the stores would carry the panic shrimp.
Good enough is good enough. Going the extra mile leads to exhaustion.

Do you have the savage shrimp under a popping cork? Or no cork?

no cork, i was sight fishing in shallow water; but if drifting it could work under a cork too!
