Spring Warrior April 12 2019

Post by jsuber »

Got a call a while back that some fellars from Georgia were staying at the Spring Warrior Fish Camp lodge in April and wanted to go fishing. Excellent lodge to stay in with a boat ramp right beside the lodge. Under the losge is an ice machine and lots of chairs and hammocks to regail about what has happened what did happen what can happen what will happen and what happened as you know it. We set out at break of dawn and sun coming up. We ended up fishing on a bar not far from the mouth where everyone ended up the day before. Everyone caught fish. We all witnessed each other catch fish and all had a good time. Im getting old so i came it at 15:00 and ate some linch and took a nap. After that i drove home and folks were still on the water. I caught reds between 16” to 29” and at times a lot of us hooked up at the same time. Some even caught a lot of trout over 20” and Bob caught a flounder.

Great catching, guys! Spring Warrior Lodge is certainly a great place to hang out. The owners are very kayak friendly and it's a beautiful part of the coast. I also heard that some fishing legends have been spotted in the area recently.

Nice report! I fished with the group on Saturday. 17 trout (largest was 26.25 inches), 8 reds and 3 flounder. Had a great time!

:A1 As usual we had a blast fishing with all of y'all and hated to leave and head back to the Atlanta area. Thanks to FBB and BajaBob for the first aid goodies to clean and wrap up my finger after a battle with an oyster (I lost). I needed stitches but hated to give my fat wallet to the Taylor county hosp. I wore a rubber glove on the left hand for the rest of the trip to keep my finger dry and clean. We all caught mid 20s Reds and trout, it was harder to find under twenty trout to fill out out bag limit. All fish taken and kept have gone to feeding our families once again.

Had a blast fishing with all the FCKA legends, and it was great to finally spend time on the water with Billy. I learned allot this trip, looking forward to doing it again. Here are the best red and trout I caught on this trip.

Rumor has it that one of the legends left a boneless brown trout  there near the bar on Thursday, and that must have triggered the bite!
