Re: River Bass Tournament
I noticed they offer team and individual prizes. Any thoughts on the team approach? I can see how teaming up could help with river launching and pickup on some rivers.

Re: River Bass Tournament
FCKA almost swept this event with only 6 out of 35 participants.
Copperhead & Andystaxidermy 1st place team
Wannadodat & Artefischal 3rd place team
Copperhead 1st place individual
Andystaxidermy 3rd place individual
Wanndodat top lady angler & 1st fish caught.
Artefischal also won the drawing for a new kayak.
Congrats to all the winners!! This was very fun event fishing waters most of us ignore. A great job by Wilderness way putting on the event. Hopefully they will do it again next year.

Re: River Bass Tournament
Thanks, Tim! Great to see you and Capn Crunch and a whole smiling cast of FCKAers come out and support the event! How exciting for Artifischal to win the Jackson HD Coosa kayak! Congrats, Allen!! You're an awesome teammate!
It really was a fun tournament. Wilderness Way was a great host on the very first of 50 stops along the tourney trail. Thanks, Rob (Reel-Fin-Addict) and staff for sharing your beautiful store and grounds and grilling up some great food!
Drew Gregory and Brooks Beatty of RiverBassin, along with a very supportive staff from afar, put on a top notch event with terrific prizes from great sponsors. I was really impressed with the constant updates leading up to the event with prompt responses to any questions. The "live results" method of sending photos of caught and released fish was really neat. Most of my catches had to wait til I was back in cellphone range, but I was able to upload my first fish caught (first cast!) to win a great prize!
I'm glad I (reluctantly) signed up for this tournament. I had little experience fishing rivers. The few weeks leading up to the event got me out of my comfort zone, took me to places I rarely go and opened up a whole new world of fishing and exploration. And I discovered a renewed appreciation of the amazing river ecosystem that is our backyard.

Re: River Bass Tournament
Big thanks to wilderness way.it was a great event. Even if I did have to do my own cookin. Its probably a good thing I don't live closer to the shop or you would get tired of us hanging out there. Great atmosphere ,great location under the oaks ,and good company. I bought my first kayak from wilderness way back in 2008 when the shop way at the big gorilla and that started us on a great journey. It's just always felt right for us and most of the folks we have have met along the way are the kind we enjoy just being around and talking fishing. Needless to say , I will never buy kayaks from anyone other than wilderness way.
Congratulations to Jean,Crunch,Cotton, and Allen. IMO FCKA has some of the best big bass kayak anglers in the country and anytime I get lucky enough to have a good day and place higher than these 4, its a great accomplishment.
I'm liking the riverbassintrail so for. But like Some others it made us step out of our comfort zone and in doing so made me realize we have some incredible fisheries close by . In fact our practice day a couple weeks ago that started as a scouting trip ended up as one of the best days bass fishing me and Andy ever had together and that's what life is all about.
So anyway,if I didn't get stage fright so bad at some of these things this is what I would have said hope to see y'all on the water soon.

Such sweet and humble words from an incredible angler, outdoorsman and wonderful man! Andy, you and your son have been an inspiration to folks across the nation! We are so lucky to call you both neighbor and friend. I've got a lot to learn and a huge desire to do so, in great part due to your knowledge and accomplishments.
"Andy and Andy", "The Thompson Boys", "The Andy's"...all terms are said by many with both awe and reverence. You two are respected and loved. Well-deserved wins, you two!! See you out on the waters.
